Frequently asked questions

Submit clear images with as much information about the property you wish to consign to our online auction estimate service. Auction estimate will be provided for items for which 33 Auction has a category of sale and which meet our minimum consignment value.

33 Auction requires the following information for each item: – clear colour images (front, back and detail of signature or marker’s mark) – a detailed description of the item including medium/material and dimensions – Provenance (the history of the item and how it was acquired) – Artist or maker (if Known)

33 Auction compares your property to similar items recently sold at auctions and will provide the most accurate auction estimate based only upon the information and images submitted online. Preliminary estimates may be subject to change upon inspection of the item.

Our consignment terms and fees include commission, damage and liability fee, marketing costs to appropriately promote your consigned item/s and performance commission fee if your item sells for over the high estimate we agree with you.

  • Standard fees (in Singapore dollars) for consignments scheduled for Sale held in Singapore

1. Seller’s Commission: 10% of the hammer price for live auction; 15% for online auction
2. Insurance: 1% of the reserve price or hammer price whichever is higher
3. Marketing: $200-1000/item, depending on the size of your work and the number of pages the item is illustrated in the live auction’s catalogue; S$ 50/item for online auction
4. Performance fee: 8% of the portion exceeding the high estimates
5. Shipping, restoration, framing (if necessary) on consignor’s account: quotation can be obtained on a case‐by‐case basis
6. Local pick‐up/delivery is at the expense and risk of the consignor and clients deal in principle directly with the transporter/forwarder/delivery company. 33 Auction can assist at the consignor’s request in making the necessary arrangements:
– $50/item/trip for lots not requiring special handling
– Extra charges apply for bulky lots or items requiring special care
– Transport insurance is at the expense of the consignor

  • Standard fees (in Indonesian Rupiah) for consignments scheduled for Sale held in Indonesia

1. Seller’s Commission: 10% of the hammer price for live auction; 15% for online auction

3. Marketing: IDR 500k-5mil/item, depending on the size of your work and the number of pages the item is illustrated in the live auction’s catalogue; IDR 200k/item for online auction
4. Performance fee: 8% of the portion exceeding the high estimates
5. Shipping, restoration, framing (if necessary) on consignor’s account: quotation can be obtained on a case‐by‐case basis

Consignment terms may differ depending on the total consignment value an individual consigns annually.

No, it is not. All properties are subjected to physical examination of the item as well as changes in the art market. Estimate provided are statements of opinion only and shall not be relied upon as formal documents for insurance, taxed or estate valuations and cannot be used as such. 33 Auction makes no representations or warranties with respect to the property, its authenticity, attribution, condition, or otherwise. Furthermore, 33 Auction’s auction estimates are intended solely for the use of the owner of the property and only for the purpose of considering whether to consign the property to 33 Auction. It may not be used by the owner for any other purpose, or by any third party for any purpose whatsoever, nor may it be published.

33 Auction will response back to enquiries within 7 working days. However, we will frequently require additional time to review your consignment submission before providing recommendations or estimates to your property.

When the property submitted by consignors are valued below 33 Auction’s threshold for sale, or if the item is outside our realm of expertise, we regret that we are unable to provide you a valuation or opinion.

We recommend submitting information and images through our auction estimate request service. Once we have determined whether your item is appropriate for auction, our specialists will be in touch with you.

Subject to 33 Auction condition of business, sale proceeds will be remitted to seller not later than 35 days after the date of auction, but if by that date 33 Auction has not received the total amount due from the buyer, 33 Auction will remit the proceeds within 5 working days after the date on which the ‘total amount due’ is received from the buyer.

The sales proceed will be transferred to the account of the named consignor. Consignor may fill in, sign and return the payment instruction form (consignor) to our accounting department to advise the consignor’s bank account details.
